Roll
I collaborated with founder and former colleague Anthony Kodeati to rebrand and develop a comprehensive brand system for his Jiu-Jitsu app, Roll. The app's focus goes beyond traditional win-loss ratios; it emphasizes performance, where the social aspect highlights transparency in fighters' movements and introduces a merit-based system rather than relying on comments and likes. Drawing inspiration from various elements of the Jiu-Jitsu ranking system—such as belts, gis, and accessories like bandages—I created a brand style that authentically represents the spirit of a Jiu-Jitsu fighter.
Through research into competitor apps and fitness platforms, I developed a sleek, modern visual system tailored to the Jiu-Jitsu community. The design reflects the diverse needs of users, whether they're seasoned veterans or newcomers just beginning their Jiu-Jitsu journey. The goal was to create a tool that speaks directly to the users who "roll," combining functionality with a strong sense of identity and purpose within the sport.
