A24 Films - Pearl
Overview
To promote the third chapter in the X horror franchise, A24 launched an open casting call inviting fans to submit themselves for potential inclusion in the upcoming film. The experience lived across A24’s website and YouTube, serving as both a promotional tool and an interactive fan engagement moment.
Challenge
The creative needed to feel cinematic and immersive while honoring the visual DNA of both X and Pearl. The challenge was to create screen-based artwork that felt authentic to the films’ unsettling tone while remaining accessible for a broad fan audience interacting through web and social platforms.
My Role
I collaborated closely with Watson DG and the A24 team to design screen art for the Notes page experience on the A24 website, as well as the YouTube thumbnail. My responsibilities included compositing multiple visual elements, retouching imagery, and refining the overall cinematic polish of the assets.
Outcome
The final assets supported A24’s interactive casting initiative with a cohesive, cinematic visual identity that felt true to the franchise. The experience successfully blurred the line between promotion and participation, drawing fans deeper into the world of X and Pearl.
